Labirent Sanat is pleased to announce Emre Celali’s solo exhibition titled “Memorial Forests”, which focuses on the multilayered relationship humanity establishes with time, space, and nature, as well as the adventure of civilization, on view between September 12 and October 17, 2026.

The first handprint left on cave walls goes beyond a simple record of existence: it is the first physical evidence of humanity's drive to transcend time. The ability to feel the past and construct the future takes place on that unique bridge the mind builds between the layers of time. The act of creation is, in fact, an implicit struggle against the void left by oblivion. At this point, the artist questions how humanity shapes the landscapes of tomorrow through the traces it leaves behind.

The intellectual journey of civilization can be read directly in the layers inscribed on the earth's surface. The phenomenon we call landscape is not merely a reflection of nature; it is a hybrid space where nature, humanity, and technology constantly clash and transform. While every new intervention reshapes the terrain, it does not completely erase the old forms, but rather merges with them to create entirely new surfaces. This transformation renders the tension between nature and human production visible through abstracted landscape layers.

Humanity's ability to transform its habitat is the main axis determining the course of civilization. However, this dominance is not merely an act of subjugating the environment, but rather an effort to understand nature and create a new ground for consensus with it. Within the practice of the exhibition, landscapes function as a two-way mirror reflecting memory, connecting what has been lived with what is yet to be lived. Shaped by the guidance of the search for meaning, these spaces go beyond aesthetic concern and gain a dynamic conceptual depth.

With “Memorial Forests”, Emre Celali reinterprets the traces humanity has left on the fabric of time. Imagining the topography of the past and the future simultaneously, this exhibition can be visited at Labirent Sanat until October 17, 2026.
